The labeling machine is a high speed system ideal for labeling on body of round plastic or glass bottles. The label is basically flat printed roll of polythene. Label is pulled from roll by means of rubber roller driven by servo systems \& cut by cutter mechanism. The cutter mechanism is rotary drum type arrangement with vertical blade on its periphery which rotates continuously and controlled by variable frequency drive. Encoder is mounted on rotary cutter for feedback. The label is delivered by the servo motor controlled by PLC whose response time and speed is very fast. Cutter is electronically synchronized with color mark sensor, which sense particular mark on label. Label stick on vacuum drum on which hot glue is sprayed on both end of label. The hot glue dispensing unit is also synchronized by using encoder feedback to form a uniform glue pattern. Glue is sprayed only when label is present on drum \& it is sense by label sensor. The bottle is rolled over the label and on completion of label application bottle will discharged on the out feed conveyor

Dairy Automation & Process Control

Automation is a fast-moving field. Only a few decades ago, process control systems were based on electromechanical relays, wired together in a logical pattern. They were replaced by hardwired electronic control systems, which were faster and more reliable, as they contained no moving parts. Clean-In-Place (CIP) Systems

HVAC

Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system in pharmaceutical industries must be integrated with an efficient control and automation scheme to maintain standard atmospheric parameters under any load conditions. A data driven approach to construct the relationship between input and output parameters using data collected from certain manufacturing/packaging areas of pharmaceutical industries. Several methods used for HVAC control are identified from literature survey and review. Traditionally HVAC or BMS is controlled by DDC which is dedicated and closed control system with proprietary hardware and software packages. It is proposed to use PAC (Programmable Automation Controller) along with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System) and HMI (Human Machine Interface; a dedicated display with embedded features) in which the logic will be developed using IEC standard PLC languages like LD, FBD, SFC and ST. Machine operates on the basic fundamental concept of gravity that material flows from top and vertical bag seal when film is moving and horizontal seal or cut- ting when film stops. Machines with continuous motion operates with vertical and Horizontal seal when film is running without stopping the machine. Vertical form filling and sealing machines (VFFS)are mainly used to pack the consumer goods for retail market for variety of different products. Various products like snacks, wafers, salt, sugar, tea, spices, can- dies, dry powder other liquid products like milk, cold drinks. Fully Automatic machine required less manpower to operate the machine, only loading of the hopper with material required, changing the Film on unwinding shaft and to collect the packed products. Different types of hoppers are also available with Augur Filler, Volumetric Cup Filler and Multi Head weigher. Speed and the weighing depends on this weighing system for more productive machines.
